There are actually two cities called "Brest" that are relatively famous.

There is Brest, FRANCE, which is a city in the Breton region (Brittany) and one of France's foremost harbors. The population of Brest, France was 141,315 in 2012.

There is Brest, Belarus, which is a city in Belarus along the Polish border. It is also known as Brest-Litovsk and is famous for the treaty signed there between the German Empire and the Russian Empire (led by Vladimir Lenin) that allowed Russia to withdraw from World War I in exchange for granting the German Empire a lot of Russian territory. The population of the city is roughly at 310,000 people.
