The 1920s consisted of the Lost generation. That group of authors that came out of WW1, and had the philosophies of living for today, why bother, and party while you can. They lived in Paris mostly. Some big ones were Ernest Hemingway (examples of his work are In Our Time and The Sun Also Rises) F. Scott Fitzgerald who wrote The Great Gatsby. Another is Gertrude Stein.

Also in the 1920s was the Harlem Renaissance, which was the blacks finally getting national recognition for their work, and portraying their life through it. Some ones are Zora Neale Hurston (Their Eyes Were Watching God) Langston Hughes, and some other poetry and novel writers, like Countee Cullen.

The 1930s was the introduction of Superman in Action Comics, and there were other comics showing the problems of the great depression like Little orphan Anne

many of the novels showed the problems of the country at that time too like John Steinbeck The Grapes of Wraith, and Erskine Caldwell Tobacco Road

This decade was also the introduction of Dr. Suess books and Dick and Jane books were used to teach kids and the Nancy Drew series was starting to get popular, especially in the Dust Bowl areas

i hope this help!
