Namrata Shirdokar won the Miss India title back in 1993, however she was also a strong contender, placing in the top six for Miss Universe that very same year.

How much fun you've hadIf you had a platform, talk about thatMake sure to thank important peopleAnd make sure that you say something to the person that will be taking your title
I actually recently judged one of Nationals Miss Teen Pageants, and I can assure you it's a real pageant. All pageants do have entry fees, but that's not unusual. Also, this is not a beauty pageant; it's a self development pageant that focuses on personal growth instead of physical beauty. That said, the pageant was a cattle call that cumulated in a 4 hour production with no intermission. The staff was very small and they travel to do this pageant each weekend in a different city. It's a boxed pageant - meaning the same thing over and over again and they don't get to know or prepare their girls for the next level. All pageants are businesses, but this one is just all about the money. The judges were told exactly how to score. As a judge, I think there is a lot of room for improvement. I would spend your money on a teen pageant that gives you a recognizable title, and a director who can work with you to book appearances and prepare you for the next level of competition. Yes, it's a real pageant. But I'd still stay away.

I know they are still accepting applications and the deadline to enter and pay the entry fee is October 23rd. The title is Miss 2010 CA Golden State Jr. Teen. Yes it is. I have participated in it, and I won! (: It is a legitimate company, however there is a 495$ sponsorship fee (you have to get people or businesses to sponsor, or pay you, to be in the pageant). I met one of my best friends at this pageant, I won a title, and an all - expense paid trip to Orlando!

There are no free beauty pageants. All pageants have entry fees, which are used to produce and put together the pageant. The only way you can enter a pageant without spending your own money is to get sponsors to pay your fee for you. If you win a title, part of the prize winnings is free entrance to the next pageant for competition.
