In Cars 2, Lightning McQueen decides to join the World Grand Prix, and takes his friend, Mater, with him. While McQueen is racing in Tokyo and Italy, Mater is mistaken for a spy by British spy agent, Finn McMissile, and is recruited to find about Professor Zündapp's plan to help Miles Axelrod, a former oil tycoon.
In the movie Disney Pixar Cars a hotshot rookie race car named Lightning McQueen dreams of winning the Piston Cup. When he ties with race cars The King and Chick Hicks he has to go to California for the finale race to see who will win. Lightning starts to get driven to California by his truck named Mack. But on the way Lightning falls asleep and Mack is getting very tired. As Mack is starting to fall asleep a group of four street racers, Boost, Snot Rod, DJ and Wingo soon make him drift off. As Mack gets pushed around by the gang his trailer accidentally opens causing the asleep Lighting to fall out. When Mack gets woken up by Snot Rod's explosive sneeze he is unaware of Lightning falling out of his trailer onto the interstate. When Lightning wakes up he tries to find Mack but ends up chasing down the wrong truck. He tries to get back onto the interstate but ends up accidentally going down Route 66. When he wakes up the Sheriff he gets chased into a small town. As Lightning destroys the road of the town the angry residents watch on. He soon gets tangled up in telephone lines and is put in the impound unconscious. When Mack gets to California he realises Lightning's gone. Soon the news spreads and everyone in the world is looking for Lightning. When Lightning awakens he meets a rusty, old tow truck named Mater. Soon he realises friends are more important than winning
