what are the symptoms of bad tdc o2 sensor
There are many symptoms of a bad O2 sensor. Some are poor fuel efficiency, flashing check engine light, the failure to pass a smog test, and rough idling.
The "check engine" light would illuminate.
If bank 1 and bank 2 sensor bad car won't start
it will randomly stall at the stop light
It is important to maintain all car parts for smooth riding. A bad O2 sensor can cause rough idling, bad acceleration, poor fuel efficiency, and a warning light should appear on the dash,.
You can visit a local auto repair store to have them detect whether your O2 sensor is bad or not. They can normally do this for free in a few minutes. A bad O2 sensor would trip the check engine light to come on. The code retrieved would lead you to the failed O2 sensor.
how do i know if the o2 sensor is bad. The check engine light would illuminate and the code(s) set would steer you to the faulty O2 sensor.
The check engine light would illuminate and set a code for the bad O2 sensor.
Check engine light, low power, poor fuel economy, etc.
I have experienced 3 major symptoms on a truck of this vintage with a 4.6 engine with a failing O2 sensor. 1. loss of power, about 10 % loss; 2. engine is slightly noisier, used to purr, now noisier, sort of a growl. 3. noticably increased fuel consumption (15-20%) at lower speeds (in town). Replacing the O2 sensor fixed all three symptoms . I made a fast trip, towing a boat (about 3 hours), and I think this may have contributed to the O2 sensor failure. Symptoms occured after this, and sensor completely failed (check engine light) several months later.
When a O2 sensor goes bad the check engine light will illuminate. The code set in the ecm will lead you to which O2 sensor is bad.
