Lie down and look under your car,if any wet areas appear to be around your wheel hubs you have leaking cylinders,if your fluid level is low in the master cylinder you have either a leak or your pads/shoes are worn down, get them checked, today,if they are low when you push the brake you may have either air in the system or thin linings, squealing may be metal to metal or lining meterial that lasts a long time but are that hard they are noisy, get the factory recommended parts always, discs are really cheap to replace so do it if they are scored or worn away.
The most obvious thing is worn brake pads. The squeaking is the worn brake pad warning device. Can also be a defective wheel bearing. In inspect the brake pads.
A grinding noise in the wheel will either be caused by worn brake pads, or a defective wheel bearing. Remove the left front wheel and inspect brake pads. If the brake pads are OK, you will need to remove the caliber and inspect the wheel bearing.
There has been some speculation that honda CRV's from 2006 to 2011 were using the defective accord brake pads where honda settled with the owners of the accords, as to why a possibility that crv's rotors were damaging the rotors with uneven wear before the pads got down to the metal. If one owns a CRV from 2006 to 2011, get replacement brake pads on all 4 wheels, so there won't be the possibility of future rotor damage from these defective pads, even if honda does not want to admit there maybe a problem with the pads.
Brake pads are part of the cars disk brakes. There are four different brake pads they are semi-metallic brake pads, organic brake pads, low-metallic NAO brake pads and ceramic brake pads.
Bad wheel bearing or defective brake pads.
Not likely but possible. Check your brake pads/shoes to start with. Can also be a defective wheel bearing.
Something is very wrong. Either defective brake pads or they were installed incorrectly. Have them inspected immediately.
Why do brake pads squeak after replacing pads?
Disc brake pads and drum brake shoes
Could be worn or glazed brake pads. Can also be a defective master cylinder, bad proportioning valve, or a brake booster with a vacuum leak.
Worn brake pads or a defective wheel bearing. If it only growls under braking it is the pads. If it growls all the time and more so when making a turn it is the wheel bearing. Inspect your brake pads/rotor and wheel bearings if necessary.
the emergency brake pads ARE the REAR brake pads.
