While the National Socialist Party was a German political party headed by Adolph Hitler there were plenty of Polish, Austrian, Dutch, and even American Nazis during WWII. Not all Germans were Nazis and not all Nazis were German.

'Nazi' was a nickname given to the party that began being widely used. The party was originally called the German Workers Party, and was German. However Adolf Hitler was from Austria and was only granted German citizenship when he became Chancellor.
