When the Europeans first settled in the east, many First Nation tribes fought to keep their land. When they lost their land they moved into the west. The First Nations were forced even farther west until the CPR was completed "from coast to coast" and the First Nations had no where else to go. Without the CPR, the Europeans would not have settled as quickly into the west, leaving the First Nations more time to fight for their land.
