Is Morgan Le fay the mother of Mordred?

A lot of people say that yes, Morgan the Sorceress was Mordred's mother. She had an affair with King Arthur, her half-brother. Others insist Morgan's sister, Morgause, was Mordred's mother. I like to think it was Morgause, because Morgan is my favorite character and not the kind of person who would have an affair with somebody.

Who was Mordred?

Mordred is King Arthur's son. He was born out of wedlock. Mordred's mother was Morgan/ Morgause (whichever you believe), who were both half sisters of Arthur. Mordred was considered to be 'unnatural' and 'born evil.' No one is born evil. well if this is the case , maybe , now down to medical research, people that are born in ways that is seen as 'inbred' are born with all types of problems and conditions aswell as disabilities and possible brain damage. Maye then they couldnt understand his condition and maybe he just had some problems they couldnt understand so labled him as evil , however the cance of this is low so maybe he was just a bad person!

How did King Arthur die?

Remember that King Arthur is a legend (fictional, although his character and depiction may be based on a factual person); in legend Arthur died in the battle of Camlam. Mordred either fatally wounded him or killed him and he was buried at Avalon,Arthur's historical existence is the 10th-century Annales Cambriae, which also link Arthur with the Battle of Mount Badon. The Annales date this battle to 516--518, and also mention the Battle of Camlann, in which Arthur andMedraut (Mordred) were both killed, dated to 537--539.During the Battle of Camlann (est. 537), King Arthur impaled his half-brother Mordred with a lance. Mordred though used what little remained of his strength to pull King Arthur to him, and delivered a fatal blow with his sword. He supposedly died later from those wounds.

Where was Mordred from?

In the Arthurian legends, Mordred was the son of then-Prince Arthur by his half-sister, Morgause. (Arthur didn't know he had half-sisters; his father King Uther had not revealed this fact.) Mordred was raised in the Orkney islands of far northern Scotland, and when he learned that he was the son - the ONLY son - of King Arthur, he came to Camelot to claim his inheritance and title as prince. Mordred eventually rebelled against King Arthur, and they killed each other at the Battle of Camlan. Some legends say that Arthur and Mordred were about to reconcile and mend their differences. The armies on both sides of the field were alert for any treachery, and one of the knights was bitten by a snake. The knight drew his sword to kill the snake, but the armies on both sides saw the raised sword as a betrayal, and the battle was joined.
