The answer you are looking for is the song 'Septimus' by Illan Eshkeri, from the soundtrack of the movie Startdust. I believe other songs are featured from the same soundtrack, but it took me an hour trying to pinpoint where I heard that song, I forgot what the other songs sounded like.........
"Another Dance" is on the soundtrack CD, but is not actually in the movie. My guess is that it was either in a scene that was cut out later or was recorded for the soundtrack but ended up not being used in the film. The song is an arrangement (not original composition), so that also leads me to believe that it is an old English country dance tune. I've been working on identifying it. I wish the composer had credited the original tune title somewhere. :)

According to a profile of Curtis Mayfield that ran in Ebony Magazine, in July 1973, the song "Freddie's Dead" was originally nominated but when the Academy realized that the song was only used instrumentally in the movie it was disqualified. All Best Song nominees have to have music and lyrics, and both music and lyrics have to be used in the finished film.
Conducted by James Horner, the soundtrack to Braveheart was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra - it was 77 minutes long, and has been the basis of French and international versions of the same soundtrack. Overall, the soundtrack was deemed a success.
