What roman general laid siege to cathage?
Most of the siege
was conducted by Scipio Africanus (Publius Cornelius Scipio
Africanus Aemilianus)
The war initially
led by Manius Manilius, but he was replaced by Calpurnius Piso in
148 after suffering a heavy defeat at Nepheris, a Carthaginian
stronghold south of the city. In 147 Scipio Aemilianus, who had
distinguished himself as a subordinate officer in the earlier
phases of the war, was given the command of the war.
