There is a special type of dye that is given to people before CAT-scans & MRI's. The dye was most likely given to you through an I.V. in your arm & is used to light up the insides of a person so X-rays can be seen more easily. This dye can cause serious health problems in some people (even death), especially to those with liver problems. This may not be the case with you, but it is a possibility. You should tell the doctor or clinic, if there is no doctor, of the pain you've had in your legs since the CAT-scan. Make sure to tell them if you have any problems with your liver & ask them about the dye. You are probably perfectly healthy, so you shouldn't let this worry you. The pain is most likely a side effect of the dye or any other med they may have given you. Muscle pain is a very common side effect caused by a number of prescription meds. Still, to be on the safe side, consult your doctor/clinic about this. Especially if you have preexisting liver problems or if the pain persists or worsens.
Generally speaking you should not suffer any pain or side effects from having a CT scan. However in some cases you may feel a slight dull ache, if the symptoms persist after 7 days consult your GP.
