i have a 2007 clk 550 convertible. the oil drain plug is located in the back of the engine towards the driver side. you need to get under the car and remove the front and back cover to expose the oil pan and drain plug. the drain plug is at the front of the oil pan towards the driver side. it is located at the side of the oil pan, not at the bottom as other cars. easiest way to get to it is from the front of the car. the 550 holds 9 qts of oil and you'll need a large oil collector. with the convertible, mercedes had two cross braces under the car for reinforcement. one of them it just right infront of the drain plug.. because the plug is on the side of the oil pan, once the plug is loose, oil will spash towards the engine parts and the cross brace and get oil everywhere. i tried to put some paper up there to cover the engine parts but it end up soaking up the paper and still spash oil all over.. you need to look at it closely and figure a way around that. i think i'll cut open a gallon container and push it up towards the oil drain plug and let the oil spash toward the gallon container and then drain to the oil collector. you'll need a oil filter wrench, 74mm with 14 sections, can get one from autozone for 6.00 and they work fine.. but you should only use mann oil filters they are the same one mercedes uses..

The oil drain plug on a 2000 Mercedes-Benz e320 is found by lifting the drivers side of the car about a curbs length up. Then you remove the access cover by taking off the 4 bolts. Then you will see the oil pan. The plug is on the lower side, which is why the car must be tilted for the oil to drain. Some people prefer to pump the oil out.
