Dr. Benito F. Reyes is a Filipino professor who became the first President of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM). He served the university from February 23, 1967 to June 23, 1972. Prior to his appointment as university president of PLM, he was a professor at the Far Eastern University (FEU), where he taught for 21 years. It was also at the Far Eastern University where he earned his master of arts degree in Philosophy.
Dr. Reyes had the privilege of teaching at the Boston University in 1951-1952 as a Fulbright-Smith-Mundt professor. And in the State University of New York in 1965 as a Fulbright-Hays professor of Philosophy.
After his stint as a university president of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, he moved to the United States and resided in California. It was in Ojai, California where he founded the World University, with Dr. Dominga L. Reyes as co-founder.
