Homeschooling is not about "better or worse" as a whole, but about "better or worse" for the child. Traditional Schools use a one size fits all method, but we all know every child does not learn the same way. If a parent feels confident that traditional schools will give the child everything they need and support the child in learning and growing to the best of their ability, there is nothing wrong with placing a child in that environment, it will most likely be healthy and good for them. Not all children do well in traditional school environments, however. Some children learn better using different methods which are more tailored to their personal needs because of learning style, personality, struggles with certain subjects, or excelling beyond expectations. Parents may also have religious reasons for teaching children at home. Many royal families for years have hired tutors for their children because they wanted a particular type of education for their child. There may also be artistic reasons to teach a child at home for a time, as there is a general lack of appreciation for the arts in may traditional schools which focus on reading, writing, math, science, and history. So one is not necessarily "better" than the other. Each child should be seen as an individual and provided with the best education their parents can give them through the method which suit the child and parents best.
Homeschooling is an alternative to public and private schooling. It involves educating children at home instead of sending them to a traditional school. It allows for flexibility in curriculum and learning methods.
