Yes. You can mix haldol and ativan for an IM injection. It's done frequently done in situations of frank psychoses, like in an ER or psychiatric facility and can be referred to as "halivan." The effect is quite potent and the drugs should only be given by medical personnel with the proper credentials in a location where the patient can have proper monitoring.
I have mixed these two medications together in injections hundreds of times in the past thirty years of being in the psychiatric nursing field. It could be that I've just been lucky all those times but it seems unlikely.

we do not massage site after IM injection because it may cause underlying tissue damage
Im not sure.. But I took like 175mg of benadryl and I got sleepy as s@%t.. not high but felt a little out of it :p
