Dead Until Dark is more of an adult book. If you're looking for young adult books in this genre I'd recommend "Xoe" by Sara C. Roethle, or The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith.
No but Close, i would hate to spoil what Daniel is but Daniel is not Human or Vampire. He is something esle. Maybe you should read the book. Then you will find out. i read it and it was great. i loved it.

Dead until Dark by Charlaine Harris
"Old Bones" by Bill Nagelkerke is a mystery novel aimed at young adult readers. It follows a group of teenagers who uncover a dark secret while exploring an old abandoned house.
