Yes. Oh god yes. He really liked speed and cocaine, which I'm not recommending by any means but that might explain some of his rapid thoughts and words, etc, in many songs and interviews.

he also did marijuana a lot and experimented with other stuff too. but word has it his favorites were uppers (like speed) and marijuana, with cocaine in there for a good while but it eventually had too many negative side effects for him (obviously) and like any regular cocaine user he started to suffer and had to quit or watch things spiral out of control....
