Catalina dressing or French dressing
Nothing. They are the same. Catalina dressing is named for the Catalina Islands in California. California french dressing is Catalina dressing.
Catalina is not as thick and does not contain mustard or the same spices as French. They are different!

Western is a brand name, (it looks like they were bought out by Wishbone), but they are known for French dressing. I do not believe that they make any other flavors under the Western name. It's much sweeter than other French dressings. As a kid, Western was the only dressing I would eat and I became quite the expert. ;)
The same as any other Western country.
It has been around since the early 1960's.
Yes but they don't taste the same. French dressing has a sweetness; Russian dressing is sharp through the use of horseradish. If you're going to substitute a dressing for Russian, you'd be better off using Thousand Island.
Yes it is. It just makes it shorter to write.
