IS AN OCR A INPUT OR OUTPUT DEVICE?
OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition, and it's software
to recognize the actual words in a scanned image. A scanner only
copies the image it sees, it can't understand what the characters
mean in a text image and that's what OCR s'ware is for. You teach
the s'ware what each character represents (if it can't recognize it
right away), and then it can be edited in a text editor program,
like Notepad or Word. Now the answer to your Q is in the reply,
both input and output.
