As printed on the game case, the ESRB has rated this game M (Mature), meaning the game is not suitable for children under the age of 17. Games are rated as mature when they contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language. The reasons for ratings are always listed on the actual game case, where it can be fully viewed before purchase. The Halo 3 case advises that it is rated M for Blood and Gore, Mild Language, and Violence.

Here is an out take from the ESRB rating description for this game:

Puffs of blood are emitted from injured aliens/humans, and blood is sometimes smeared on walls and on the ground. Some profanity (e.g., "bullsh*t," "a*shole," and "bastard") can be heard in the dialogue and radio chatter. For the full quote, see the related link below.

I would not recommend it. A lot of thirteen-year-olds play Halo 3, but the ESRB gives it a rating of M, or "Mature." This means that the ESRB recommends that the player has at least seventeen years-of-age before playing this game. However, it is ultimately up to the parent to decide. If you think your child is rather mature for his age, I'd look into it. I wouldn't give it to your average thirteen-year-old however.

While Halo 3 does not have excessive blood and guts, and has no sex or drug use, it is still a game about fighting a war, and one might say violence is at it's core. Furthermore, no country that rates appropriate ages for Video Games has given Halo 3 less than 12, which is to say at a minimum one must be 12 to purchase the game. Ultimately it is up to the discretion of the parent or legal guardian to allow a 10 year old to play the game.

That really depends on what you mean by "good for kids" First thing you must remember is that even though in the Halo games you are killing non-humanoid looking aliens and even though there is "blood" its colored purple and/or green. As far as I know there is no red colored blood in the game. Second unlike games like Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row, Battlefield, & Call of Duty there really aren't any curse words that I know about and/or have heard while playing any of the Halo games. I've played all 4 of them from start to finish. So if you are ok with your kids shooting realistic guns & killing non-humanoid looking aliens then I would say that the Halo games are better for kids compared to games like Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row, Battlefield, & Call of Duty. And in my opinion the Halo games are some of the funnest Shooter games I have ever played in my 19+ years of gaming experience.

I started to play Halo 5 at 7 or 8. I have never played the Halo's before that tho. Halo 5 is totally appropriate for 7 year old kids cuz there are no realistic violence, nudity or sex, and etc. The only thing i worry about is if people have their mics and cuss into it. Other then that its fine

No, it isn't. Only teenagers 15 or 16 and up should be playing Halo.

It depends on their maturity level. If they seem responsible enough yes. If they aren't wait until they are.

No, respect the ESRB rating, it's there for a reason, if you are 13 and under you should not be playing M rated games.
