Although ancestors are worshipped in Confucianism, it is a monotheistic religion, because they worship 'Ti'en (Heaven).'

God, in Confucianism, is more like the way Deists believe in Him, rather than Christians, Muslims, Sikhs, or Jews would understand Him.

Confucianism is more often considered a philosophy than a religion. There are no deities in Confucianism, so it is not classified as monotheistic or polytheistic.
