Othello strangles Desdemona and then Emilia comes in and Iago kills her and then Othello realizes that Desdemona was innocent so in the end he kills himself. Not a happily ever after ending, eh?
Othello and Desdemona are deeply in love with each other, even though they are very different. Othello has led a life of adventure; Desdemona has hardly been outside her house. Othello is middle-aged; Desdemona is in he late teens or early twenties. Othello is a foreigner who has won his place by merit; Desdemona is from an important Venetian family and has her social status by birth. Othello is dark-skinned; Desdemona is pale. Othello is also very humble, which makes him feel that he is unwarrantably lucky to have the love of a woman like Desdemona. This virtue should enhance their relationship, but it is unfortunately also the chink in Othello's armour through which Iago attacks, making Othello feel that Desdemona must also consider him unworthy of her love.
He tells him that the best way for him to get his place back is to get Desdemona to plead with Othello, which would probably be good advice if Iago had not at the same time suggested to Othello that Desdemona was having an affair with Cassio. Because of Iago's suggestion, Desdemona's concern for Cassio looks like confirmation of her having an affair with him.
In the end himself... Iago planted the seeds of doubt in his mind to get what he wanted, But if Othello REALLY loved Desdomona then he would of not believed the 'imaginary proof' that Iago told him, and wouldn't of doubted her in the first place. In the end it was Othello whol literally went insane with Jealousy, it engulfed him and ultimately controlled him.
Othello is a General that lives in Italy(Venice), but is a Moor. Traditionally that means he is black while everyone else is white. He is very respected and marries on of the leading families daughters. Iago is one of his most trusted lieutenants, but after great victories Othello decides to promote someone else. Iago then begins a scheme to get power. First he brings down his other rivals for power. Then he seeks revenge on Othello. To do so he starts scandals almost on a whim and makes everyone distrust one another. Including Othello and his wife. Side note: Othello has epilepsy and no one must know or they will think him weak or possesed. Iago forces Othello to smother his wife and all of his rivals to die, yet in the end He loses his own life in his web of lies. One of the most Ironic things about Othello is Iago the most wicked liar coins the term (I wear my heart upon my sleeve.) Meaning he does not decieve. Iago makes the top ten most evil fictional villains ever.

Why does anyone fall in love? Othello has many fine qualities which a young woman might admire: he is brave, apparently confident, kind and loving. But Desdemona's love is not hero-worship, as Othello supposes. She sees that he feels out-of-place in Venetian society, and that his apparent confidence masks humility and vulnerability about his own worth, and loves him the more for it. It is this humility which makes him a better leader and a better lover. It is also this trait which makes him vulnerable to the designs of someone like Iago.
He points out how different Othello and Desdemona are: he's had a rough and tumble life and she's been a sheltered rich girl, he's grown up all over the place and she's spent her life in Venice, he is old and she is young, he is black and she is white. On the other hand, Cassio is the same age, the same colour, and from the same kind of social and economic background. Iago insinuates that while she might have found Othello to be a novelty, in the long run she is more likely to stick with someone who is more like her. Othello, unfortunately, is keenly aware of the differences and his self-confidence is vulnerable; Iago knows it so that's where he figuratively shoves the knife.
well i know that this takes place after Othello, the Duke and Brabantio discuss the marrage between Desdemona and Othello, right after everyone in the room had left all except for Roderigo and Iago and In case anyone else didn't know this novel is really a play written by William Shakesphere
His expressions "brave Othello" and "noble moor" indicate the high opinion in which he holds Othello.
The story takes place in Venice and in Cyprus.
