Refrigerant is added to a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire by removing the safety cap on the low pressure cooling line at the rear of the engine compartment. The charging line is then hooked up and refrigerant added until the pressure reaches specified levels.
the ignition module is under the distibutor cap
The distributor cap is located on the top of the distributor on a 1996 Sunfire. It is connected to the spark plugs via a wire.
I would try distibutor cap and rotor.
The oil dipstick is built into the oil filler cap. Unscrew the cap, pull the dipstick out, wipe it dry and reinsert it. Remove it again to read the oil level.

Look on the distributor cap very carefully. It should be marked. If no go, bring #1 to 0 deg TDC and the rotor will be pointing at it.
