Simeon believed that the Infant Jesus was the Messiah that had been predicted to come into the world, as he had been told by the Holy Spirit that he would see the Messiah before he died and on that day the Spirit had led him to come to the temple .

Simeon was a old priest in the temple and both Mary and Joseph had brought hm to the temple to dedicaaate him

The only relation Simeon the priest had with Jesus was that , when Joseph and Mary brought him to the temple , it was Simeon who dedicated him to god.

In The Bible, Simeon is very little known about. He is the man who met Joseph and Mary just before the birth. He has been promised by God that he would not die until he saw the Messiah.
