how much does it cost to repair the rear differential in a subaru outback
500
The Subaru Outback outweighs the Honda CRV In 10 out of 13 categories I have looked at. The average cost of the Subaru is about $1,000 more than the Honda, but its worth it for all the extras you get.
The cost to replace valve cover gaskets on a 2001 Subaru Legacy is about $600. If the work is done at home the cost is only $100 to $200.
S100
cost me about 180 bucks a year ago in colorado, if that helps
Though it could be technically possible, it's probably not financially responsible. It would likely cost more than an automatic 1999 Subaru Outback with a rebuilt engine. The main problem would be in changing it from manual to automatic. Or, there are no automatic/manual "engine's", the engine IS separate from the transmission, this is an easy swap provided you have th skills, the wiring harness and ECU will need to be swapped as well.
The new catalytic converter and gasket for my 2005 outback wagon was $830 installed at an independent Subaru specialist. Are you sure that yours is not covered under warranty (80,000 miles, I think)
Subaru fluid only from dealer. Cost is about $8.00 / qt and you need 4.5 for drain and refill or 14-16 to completely change it.
A valve job for your 1999 GMC Suburban will cost approximately $800. The parts will cost around $200 and require 10 hours of labor.
I just got a quote from my subaru dealer for a 2002 outback wagon with the 2.5 engine, and it's $1750. Check to make sure you aren't covered under the recall. If you aren't......I had head gasket, timing belt, and drive belts all replaced for about $1100.00 on my 02 outback wagon. At the dealership.
I paid a shop $1399 to replace one front hub, (worn) with a used one from a scrapyard (cost was $125), both front wheel bearings (left and right sides of car) and front brakes. Two brand new hubs would have been $250 each extra from the dealer for my 1999 legacy outback wagon. Date: Dec 2010
