I don't think anyone can give you a hard and fast rule for what a Retail Assistant Manager should be making. It all depends on the company that you're working for, how many people you're supervising, your responsibilities, etc. The company I'm working for now, although not in management, pays their assistants in excess of $50,000 a year.
