Teachers are basically failed artists, poor scientists or low-grade athletes.

I am just a copywriter on 80 grand + a year.

Not bad when you consider that i left school with any exams. Beat the system kids.

The starting salary for a secondary school teacher in the UK (if teaching a science, mathamatics or information and communication technology subject) is £21k per annum (£26k if you work in inner London).

An experienced teacher will earn around £30k (England and Wales) - £35k (if in inner London) per annum.

Advanced skills teachers between £35k and £62k per annum depending on geographical location and head teachers upto £109k per annum depending on location and experience.

If the teacher is in the average primary school about 80 pound a week and about 230 thousand each year it is a good pay but even better if a teacher works at a special need school they get paid about 100 to 150 a week !!!

newly qualified teachers start on a minimum of £20,133 and gradually progresses to £29,427. teachers in London are paid more. salaries go up by performance e.g duties, responsibilities etc.
