Charles Dickens, prolific Victorian author, wrote 14 complete novels in his lifetime and left behind one unfinished one. He was more than a novelist, though—he also wrote novellas (A Christmas Carol is one of them), short stories, poetry, and nonfiction.

Dickens published all of these novels serially, meaning a few chapters at a time would come out regularly, typically once a week or once a month. He was paid per installment, but not per word, as some erroneously believe.

Note that A Christmas Carol isn’t included in the list of novels. Because of its length, it’s classified as a novella.

Charles Dickens is one of the most highly seen authors of all time. He totally wrote 14 full length novels in his life and then he also was in the process of writing another but couldn't complete that one so it was left uncompleted. He not only wrote novels but also novellas, poetry and some nonfiction as well. He would actually publish his novels chapter wise never fully and always in a way that a chapter a week etc.

Charles Dickens is credited with writing 15 novels during the course of his lifetime. However, this has been debated as there are several smaller works that are considered to be “novels’ of Dickens. If we were to count these, then the number would rise to around 25.
