Lee Harvey Oswald used a 6.5 x 52 mm Italian Carcano M91/38 bolt-action rifle, serial number C2766. The rifle was equipped with a 4x Hollywood brand scope. The military surplus rifle and scope were sold through Klein's Sporting Goods Company by mail order. Alternate theories The Kennedy assassination is one of the most debated events of the 20th century. There are many alternate theories as to the exact circumstances of the assassination. Some hold that Oswald was not the real shooter, in which case he did not use any rifle. There is also some controversy as to which exact Carcano rifle was used since there is a 36" and a 40" version and Oswald may have owned both. Another alternate theory is that the actual rifle found in the book repository was a Mauser, but the Carcano was substituted to frame Oswald.
Not that anyone knows and can prove. I suspect that kinda like Kevin Bacon, there aren't too many people between any of us and the Mafia. But the Mafia would be fools to let anyone like Oswald in. He wasn't "quiet", politically, and people who draw attention to themselves are not what the Mafia is looking for.
Lee Harvey Oswald, assassin of JFK, worshipped Communism. He said "Well, I think the best religion is Communism." He didn't think much of Christianity. He read the Bible and had no faith in it. http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/JFKoswald.htm

JFK was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald, but there are many conspiracy theories on this topic and it is highly debated.
The Warren Commission concluded that it was Lee Harvey Oswald acting alone, but many people believe that is not true. Even if Oswald shot Kennedy, there could have been some unknown co-conspirators or a second or third gunman. The truth is we will never know for certain who shot the gun or who all was involved in the killing. If you're asking this for a question on a school paper, then the answer you need to put is Lee Harvey Oswald.
There is still a great deal of debate concerning the Kennedy assassination, and many conspiracies are suspected. Nonetheless, the general consensus of opinion is that Lee Harvey Oswald was the assassin, and Oswald was caught almost immediately (in November, 1963) and was then shot before he could be tried (which is one of the reasons why many people think that the full truth is still not known).
There are literally hundreds of theories on this, but the Warren commission says that a lone gunman, Lee Harvey Oswald, was very disturbed with the way Kennedy took a stand against Cuba. For that reason Oswald shot him . There are many who believe that there was more than one shooter, but the official statement is that Oswald acted alone

Two of Oswald's three shots hit Kennedy. No bullet from any other direction hit him; no bullet from any other direction is known and proven to have even been fired.
John F. Kennedy was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald alone. There are many theories and schemes floating around on the subject but when the evidence is taken in totality, the result shows quite definitively that Oswald was responsible. Other theories of the assassination only hold together when the evidence is examined selectively.
Rounds per minute probably refers to how many shots a firearm can fire off in a minute.
In a fifth, 17 shots.
David Ferrie is famous as someone whose name pops up in reference to the many conspiracy theories surrounding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. There are photos of him with Lee Harvey Oswald from the Civil Air Patrol where they were both pilots. A New Orleans attorney alleged his involvement but Ferrie has denied ever meeting Oswald and has denied any involvement in the assassination.
