What is the answer Kathy doesn't want to buy more than 50 hot dogs but she does want to buy the same hot dogs as rolls how many packages of each should she buy?
It depends on where she is.
If she's anywhere but New England, she will buy six packs of
buns plus either six packs of 8-per-pack wieners like Ball Park, or
eight packs of 6-per-pack kosher wieners like Hebrew National. This
will give her 48 hot dogs and 48 buns.
If she IS in New England, hot dog buns come 10 in a pack
(they're also a different shape than the ones in the rest of the
country) so five packs of buns and five 10-per-pack wieners will
give 50 hot dogs.
If she isn't in New England and wants to get cheap on the meat,
though, five packs of buns and four 10-per-pack wieners will give
40 hot dogs.
