There were approximately 9,000 of the original DMC-12 's built in Ireland up until 1982. Production began again in 2008 from the original OEM parts left over. These cars will not be considered new cars because they will be built from the original left over unibodies. The will be titled as 1980s cars. How many will be built is still in question but about 20 per year is the most quoted figure.
