If it is good rum distilled from sugar cane, it shouldn't have corn syrup in it. However, some rums such as coconut rum or other fruit flavored rums may have corn syrup in it. The only way to find out is to contact the maker or manufacturer and ask. In the US. the Food and Drug Administration does not require alcohol to list ingredients on the label because these are not under their jurisdiction because they are neither foods nor drugs. I have had to call up manufacturers and ask the corn syrup question because I am allergic to corn syrup. Good luck. It's not easy to find out specifics on alcohols.
