Sperm can not live in water. This is merely a myth.
Ok so whoever answered ^ that is totally wrong. First of all sperm do NOT die when it comes into contact with air. That's the myth right there. Sperm can live up to 15 minutes sometimes once its outside of the body. Sperm die once you dry it. Sperm can live in water as well but not for too long, specially if there's chemicals involved. I only agree that sperm can live for up to 5 days in a Woman's vagina.

The answer depends on a number of factors. On a dry surface sperm are dead by the time the semen has dried. In water sperm will live longer.Inside a woman's body, sperm can live for up to five days. If you have unprotected sex even a few days before your partner ovulates, there is a chance of a pregnancy.
Sperm would only survive seconds in water that has chemicals, or the temperature of the water is hot or cold. Even if the water was perfect conditions for them, they can not last more than an hour outside of the body.
