a few minutes

"A few minutes" is grossly incorrect. Actually clams can live for quite some time out of water. If keep on well drained ice or refrigerated dry, they can last for many days, weeks even.

No, without food clams can't live. Clams swallow the waters and then eat the food out of the water. Just don't put trash in the water because if it swallows trash may go into ot and destroy them.

A clam cannot survive without water. They would not be able to last long if they didn't have food to eat.

Clams are basically a giant scallop/oyster. If you take a clam out of the sea, it would definitely survive without water... for a short period of time though!
