Drinking alcohol in moderation is associated with better health and greater longevity than is either abstaining from it or abusing it. It also reduces the risk of developing senility, including Alzheimer's disease. However, abusing alcohol, especially over a long period of years, can effect the mind and body badly.

Alcohol affects your mind by slowing down brain function, affecting judgment, coordination, and decision-making. It can also lead to impaired memory and concentration. In terms of the body, alcohol can cause dehydration, liver damage, heart problems, and weaken the immune system. Overconsumption can lead to alcohol poisoning and even death.

The main factor that will influence how alchohol will affect a person is contributed to the effect it causes to the chief function that controls the entire physical body;the function of the central nervous system-"the brain"..when alchohol enhances the inhibitory neurotransmitters(gaba),it sends a signal usurping the person capacty and ability to control the muscular system.consequently distorting judgement, obstructing vision and a plethora of dysfunctional behavior displayed revealing evidence of someone under the influence of alchohol.
