what is tiptronic gear box? Automatic gearbox, able to use variable gears by choice
Anyone who can drive a car should be able to use a Tiptronic seeing as how it can be used as a conventional automatic.
A Tiptronic gearbox is slightly like a normal manual gearbox but with one difference. The gearbox lever can only go foreword (down a gear) or downward (up a gear). If you watch the BTCC or Le Mans in the GT1, 2 or 3 class, you will understand what I am talking about.
Lifetime.
Of course you can, in fact the best towing cars are automatic
1. It is called TIPtronic gearbox. 2. It is a combination between semi-automatic and automatic gearbox. 3. You have an option to change the gears with a lever on the steering wheel or with the gear lever (like semi-automatic gearbox) 4.It is called tiptronic, because you pull or push the tip of the lever in order to change gear
S mode is for Sport Mode whereby the gear upshift is delayed.
it can mean serious problems. If the gearbox has gone into limp mode it will take a long time to build up speed because it only uses 3rd gear in drive. reverse will still work. The tiptronic will not work. The revs will be high on the motorway.
no Actually it depends on the year. there are 5 speed manual trannys in Mk4's and before.
The mechanism of the tiptronic gear transmission is rotation. The tiptronic gears are usually an automatic transmission that allows the driver to control the gears like it is done in a manual transmission.
it is extremely difficult unless you have a lift and a tranny filling device. there are two bolted plugs on the bottom of the tranny. 1 is drain, other is fill. When opened the fill should not lose any oil where-as the drain will do just that. The transmission fluid in a tiptronic is "permanent." If you are having problems with it, take it to a VAG (VW/Audi Group) tech.
