To connect it to the computer so the functions of the mouse can be used.
Firewire and parallel are not mouse connection ports.
its fine
yes, just connect the wire!! lol
There are two different possiblities for connecting a mouse to a desktop PC computer. In the past there were what were called PS2 mice that plugged into a special circular connector on the back of the computer. You don't see these on current computers. On current computers you connect a mouse to any USB port. I don't know about Apples, even thought they were the innovaters that came up with the mouse.
A mouse is an external device, meaning it is outside the computer, and has to connect to it in some way, instead of being built into it.
It means it uses "Infrared" light instead of a "wireless" radio signal to connect to the computer.
Currently most computer mice are connected to the computer (either the tower of a desktop or the base of a laptop) through a USB cable. Older models may still have a dedicated specialized mouse connector, although these are becoming rare. A mouse typically does not connect to any other device besides the main computer.

Just a theory, you dissasemble a mouse, and keep the cord to connect to the computer, then connect that to a touch pad (find online) tape it over the computer, and pull up the screen keyboard in settings
Just press & hold little button on your usb receiver, and than press reset button on your mouse. So simple.
