To write a Philippines telephone number in international format, begin with the country code +63, and then drop the trunk prefix 0 from the beginning of the domestic number. For example, Manila's area code 02 becomes +63 2. Do not use any punctuation at all except for the plus sign on the country code: only digits and spaces.

Do not write the country code as 0063, as that will be confusing to callers in countries that use a prefix other than 00 for international calls.

In Malaysia, we start off the number with country code +60, followed by 1x (x depends on the service provider). Then, a unique set of 7 digits follows.

Examples would be:

017 347 7703 becomes +60 17 347 7703

or

014 490 0774 becomes +60 14 490 0774.

Malaysia is country code +60. To write a Malaysian number in international format, replace the leading 0 of the domestic number with +60 and a blank space.

(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)

Remove the trunk prefix 0 from the beginning of the Philippines number (mobile or landline) and replace it with country code +63. Do not use any punctuation at all except for the single plus symbol (+) and blank spaces to separate groups of digits.

For example, +63 9xx 123 4567

Note that the "hybrid" format along the lines of +63 (0) 9xx... is incorrect and confusing. Do not include the trunk prefix 0 in the international format number, because it is only used for domestic calls within the Philippines.

09XX XXX XXXX in domestic format; in international format, replace the leading 0 with Philippines country code +63. Also note that there are a few new mobile numbers beginning with 081X.
