You really dont use an IPV4 Address, unless your making a port forward server but you normally do it with a default gateway. But to access on a windows XP and above (You can do it on XP, Vista 7 and, 8) But press the windows key type in CMD and open that and in the command console/cmd type in ipconfig and scroll down or up and find IP Adapter and that is the main addresses you use.
There is no need to disable ipv4 to use ipv6.
IPv4 Mechanisms
IPV6 is less vulnerable to DNS Spoofing IPv4 addresses use 32 bit or 4 bytes for addressing IPv6 addresses use eight bit segments.
32 bits in a IPv4 address
32 bits (for IPv4), or 128 bits (for IPv6).32 bits (for IPv4), or 128 bits (for IPv6).32 bits (for IPv4), or 128 bits (for IPv6).32 bits (for IPv4), or 128 bits (for IPv6).
IPv4 was the first used network addressing scheme from the 1970s. IPv6 is newer and not compatible with version 4. It will take some time to upgrade the software and equipment to be able to fully use v6.
IPv4 was described in RFC 791 in September 1981.
IPV4 is a kind of IP Address.
Minimal bytes required in IPv4 header are 20 i.e. 20 bytes are mandatory. And total bytes in IPv4 header are 60.
IPv6 has a larger address space compared to IPv4, allowing for more unique addresses. This solves the issue of address exhaustion seen in IPv4.
Hosts with the same network portion of their IPv4 address.
