Or, if you see your tama with squiggley lines and an uncomfortable look, select this icon quickly, and your tama will sit on a duck or a toilet and go, depending on their stage of life. 4th icon-bat and ball- play games, shop, look at/use your items, enter a password, and look at your souviners. 5th icon-pulsating heart- use to connect with other tamas. 6th icon- talking pacman- praise or disipline your tama here. 7th icon- medicine bag- give your tama a shot when it is sick or has a toothache. 8th icon- light- turn off the lights when your tamagotchi sleeps to make it happier. 9th icon-book- check your friends list, donate to the king, wrap items and food, look at your tama's parents. etc 10th icon- winking faces- lights up only when tama wants/needs attention, cannot be selected. Extra icons depending on version Music star music note- play games, change toy and instrument music star door- away, shop etc. when your tama has an ! over it's head and the door is highlighted select it to answer the door, because a guest is waiting there. music star and v5 treasure chest- medicine, items, etc v5 tv- dating show travel show (pause), and shopping channel v4 and v4.5 envelope- check your mail. To make the happy hearts go up you have to feed it snacks (from the food menu- which is second on the display) but if you fully compleate one of the games all of the hearts fill up and it loses a little weight! Hope I helped you!

Depends, if you have a v5, like I do, for the newborn baby feed it in till all 5 stars are full, and feed it 1 more time. Clean up after it, if it the smaller versions, same thing, but with 4 stars and plays games on both.

The speed of the development of your tamagotchi all depends on how you treat it. If your tamagotchi is happy and not hungry, and you play a lot of games with it, it will evolve quicker. Pausing your tamagotchi really does interfere with the growing process so if you are capable of looking after your tamagotchi with no pausing DON'T PAUSE IT! The rest just comes down to patience, for the tamagotchi to go through each process it can take around 3 days on a constantly happy and healthy tamagotchi. Don't give up on it though, keep it healthy and happy and I can assure you it will grow. If you really want to speed things up and glitch your tamagotchi a bit, and want to go to the extreme, debugging is an option I guess.
