middle of the dash, up by the windshield. looks like a little black LED light, but obviously doesn't light up.
It should be on top of your dash. I believe its the little black half-circle looking thing that flashes red when your vehicle ignition is off.
In my 2004 GMC Canyon, the ambient light sensor is mounted at the right side of the dashboard. It is mounted below the dashboard and has a lens on the surface so that it can measure the ambient light that reaches the sensor through the windshield.
I believe it is the Ambient light sensor to auto adjust screen brightness.
i need to replace the temperature control light bulb on my 2004 silverado.
Have to replace the whole switch
I don't know ask a machenic!
Not wanting to state the obvious here, but it's a sensor that detects the ambient (outside) temperature. This then links through to a light on the dash and is used to warn you of a possible risk of ice. HTH
The ambient air temperature sensor is in front of the radiator. Connecting wires come from the right, near the rear of the left head light, as you are facing the engine from the front of the car.
Normally a flashing check engine light means you have a misfire. Do not ignore this as an engine misfire will damage the O2 sensor and the catalytic converter which are very expensive to replace. Have this repaired immediately.
Yes, replace the sensor and have the dash light reset.
on a 2002 Chevy silverado with a 4.6 liter v6 where is the coolant sensor for low coolant. I have a light on and check the overflow and their is coolant but don't know if their is another one or not.
