Just be careful that film you are talking about is not your UV layer, you need that.
The smartest approach is a non abrasive solution. an acrylic lens deoxidizer. That will not remove the film but it will remove the light blocking oxidation that is covering the film.
The least expensive and so far the best, better than any of the ones that I paid good money for at an auto parts store, is to simply clean the lens with cotton balls and nail polish remover (acetone). This worked great when the lens is hazey.
If the lens is really bad then you can use either a plastic polish or a very fine sand paper or polishing compound.
I found a kit from 3M for $16 that has 500 and 800 grit sandpaper disc and two different buffing wheels that go on a drill. It also comes with polishing compound. Took me about 15 minutes and I took the yellow film off my 1997 headlights and made them look brand new, not too mention the drastic improvement of lighting up the road at night.
take off the bumper
Pull the push pin out. This loosens the plastic guard surrounded the headlight. Pull the guard off. This allows you to remove the headlight assembly.
No, they are part of the headlight assembly.
not sure what you are trying to do... and i dont know if you can without melting it off.... but as far as taking the headlights out.... remove the black plastic radiator cover (push-pins) then remove the two bolts holding the headlamp in unplugh the bulb harness and remove mess around with the screws and clips on the headlight assembly, but i dont know if you can take the front clear plastic piece off. (and be able to put it right back on..)
i would assume you need to turn your headlights off as they are the most common reason for the beeping after you turn off the car. My headlights are off and the car is still beeping
I have a 2002 Chrysler Sebring convertible. If you turn off the ignition and remove the key while the headlights are on, then turn off the headlights, the headlights will stay on for 30 seconds and turn off. You can avoid this by turning the lights off before you turn off the car or by switching them on and off again.
To remove the front bumper remove the following: 12 plastic clips, 6 accessuble on the top, 6 accessible on the bottom 6 screws on the bottom. Bumper hangs on a series of hooks (6) just beneath the headlights.
If its the front turn signal you open your hood and partly remove the black plastic cover on top of your headlights. Then you should see a screw on that screws on your signal light. Remove the screw and take off the the signal light and then remove the bulb.
well i had to pull my front bumper off to put the headlights on. I have a 1997 prelude so i don't know what year you have but i would guess the front bumper will have to come off.
The lens? It can be removed from the housing, and in many cases can become separated from the housing when the adhesive wears off.
There are a couple of different times when you'd turn off your headlights. You'd turn off your headlights when the car is off for example.
