Well...here's what I think are some good signs:
1) He smiles at you alot. When he passes you, when he talks to you, when he looks at you.
2) He looks at you and stares at you. He tries to get you to look at him, or he looks at you ALL the time.
3) He talks to you, compliments you, teases you, whatever! Just makes conversations and tries to act like one of your friends.
4) Jokes around you, tries to impress you, wants to make you laugh :)

Then you could usually tell either if the guy stares at you all the time, or sometimes guys show that they like you by "flirting" with you, such as talking nicely to you, or a lot of the time they act rude so cover up the liking that they may have for you. Dont get your hopes up. Most of the time, if a boy says "just friends", he means it. The only way that could change is if HE says he likes you like that still. 7th grade isn't the time to worrying about stuff like that. only 5% of 7-8th grade relationships ever last longer than a trimester.
