If you are driving hwy; Average 60mph - give or take.

Take the amount of miles you are driving divided by 60. That should give you a close enough estimate of course you'll have to factor in that you won't always be able to average 60mph and there may be breaks between your starting spot and ending location. I always allow myself a little more time than the estimate gives you. This estimate has always been extremely close though. I use it to calculate most all of my important trips.

You can also just go to mapquest.com and it will give you approx. drive time.

You don't. The "hours meters" on many lawn tractors or construction equipment measures the legnth of time a motor has been running from start to stop. This includes idle and load times. you can not acuratly measure distance with these meters. With construction equipment, some are running all day with out moving an inch. (excavators, backhoes)
