You need to have a GBA or GB game that is Pokemon and of Kanto or Hoenn, and put it in your DS. Then put platinum in too. Go the the main menu of Platinum and it will say something like "Migrate Pokemon from Pokemon ______" (whatever Pokemon version you have - Emerald, Red, etc.) And click on the link. And you have to migrate six Pokemon from that version to Platinum and have to use those Pokemon to be in a Catching Show.
