Depending on the size of the casserole, you can try adding a teaspoon or two of cornstarch to the sauce in the recipe. Be sure to add the starch to the sauce or some other liquid (a little bit of stock or water, for example) and and then blend before adding to the rest of the casserole or you will end up will lumps in your sauce.

You can thicken gravy by pouring a little cold water in a cup and adding a little flour or cornstarch. Whisk it until all the lumps are out and then add it to the gravy. Let it simmer for a few minutes. If it still isn't thick enough, repeat the process.
