The Hindus use the mandir [or temple] for worship. They need [or maybe we all need] a place where we can have peace, a deity to concentrate on, a place to sit in, and a person to holy mantras to have a peace full worship. Having this in mind, our ancestors have created a holy building called the temple.

A mandir/temple is is a place of worship for followers of Hinduism. A picture of most temples is the presence of murtis (images) of the Hindu deity to whom the temple is dedicated.

Worshipers in major temples typically bring in symbolic offerings for the prayer or 'puja'. This includes fruits, flowers, sweets and other symbols of the bounty of the natural world. These offerings are presented to the feet of the God-form. They may also recite sacred Sanskrit verses called 'mantras', follow the instructions of the priest called the 'pujari' or meditate.
