If we're speaking of a standard American toilet set, they're very easy to replace. The only consideration is how much room you'll have to wiggle around on either side of the toilet. Most seats are held on by two bolts on either side of the bowl where the hinge is. Sometimes the top of the bolt is covered by a pop-up piece of plastic or something. You'll need to lie on your side and reach back to the underside of the toilet - feel up under the bowl just ahead of the tank, and you'll find the bolt for that side. It probably has a plastic nut on it. Loosen the nut (you may need a pair of pliers) and simply run the bolt all the way off the nut. Do the same on the other side. Take off the old seat, put the new one on, and reverse your actions. All standard toilet seats will fit any standard toilet.
