No cause of death is listed for John Bosco. He was old and he was exhausted from years of work. When he took to his bed in December of 1887, he said, "Now I go to my rest; I shall not get up again." On January 31, 1888, at Turin, Italy, he passed to his eternal reward at the age of 74.
